St. Giles of Provence Church

Totternhoe

Welcome to St Giles in the village of Totternhoe.

The Church of St Giles became a Grade I listed building on 3 February 1967. The church was built using stone from local quarries and has a fine exterior. Building began in the 14th century and was not completed until the 16th. It is said to host “the best set of bells in Bedfordshire”. The west tower contains eight bells, dating back to 1654. The ringing platform in the tower was erected in 1967.

The ‘living’ churchyard at St Giles is an attractive, nature-friendly space with areas that encourage wildlife – find out more.
